A jury found defendant guilty of rape. The court fixed his punishment at life imprisonment and sentenced him accordingly.

According to the testimony of the alleged victim, she was an employee of University of Alabama in Birmingham on June 22, 1979, and about 5:00 P.M. that day, as she was leaving work to go home in her automobile parked in the parking lot of the University, the defendant, whom she had not known before...
