Murder conviction and life imprisonment sentence resulted from the trial of the defendant/appellant Joseph Scruggs in the Circuit Court of Wayne County. The indictment charged him with the murder of Richard Roberts while "engaged in the commission of the crime of armed robbery." On his appeal, defendant Scruggs argues that the lower court erred in: (1) allowing the defendant's confession into evidence; (2) sentencing him to life imprisonment...
