Following a jury trial, the defendant, Cory Siefke, was convicted of rape and sentenced to a term of 12 years imprisonment. On appeal he contends that the so-called rape shield statute (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 115-7) is an unconstitutional infringement of his sixth amendment right of confrontation and that the trial court therefore erred in granting the State's motion...
