In a bench trial, defendants Gerald Freeman, Lamont Johnson, Matthew Crosby and Gregory Knox were found guilty of aggravated battery and armed violence. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, pars. 12-4, 33A-2.) In addition, Johnson, Crosby and Knox were found guilty of aggravated kidnapping. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 38, par. 10-2.)
