Defendant (Appellant), following a trial by jury, was convicted of Murder, Ind. Code § 35-42-1-1 (Burns 1979), Robbery "A", Ind. Code § 35-42-5-1 (Burns 1979), and Theft "D", Ind. Code § 35-43-4-2 (Burns 1979). He was sentenced to imprisonment for terms of forty (40) years for the murder and thirty (30) years for the robbery. He was not sentenced for the theft.
