Elsie Mae Jones was charged by bill of information with four counts of issuing worthless checks, a violation of R.S. 14:71. A judge trial resulted in convictions on three of the four counts.1 The sentence imposed was a ten day jail term on each of the three counts, the terms to run consecutively, in addition to a fine of $50.00 plus court costs.
