HALL, Justice:

Defendants appeal their convictions of theft of a motor vehicle, in violation of U.C.A., 1953, 76-6-404 and 76-6-412.

On Sunday, March 16, 1980, defendants entered a service station in Green River, Utah. They were driving a red pickup truck with a camper shell on the back which contained numerous tires, rims, automobile parts, and tools. They approached the station attendant about selling some of the items so that they could purchase gasoline...
