This is an appeal from a judgment awarding plaintiff-respondent St. Michael Hospital (hospital) $5,790.45 plus costs in an action to recover costs of care rendered by the hospital pursuant to sec. 49.02 (5), Stats.1 On April 11, 1977, Pamela Vales (Vales) was admitted to the hospital for treatment of a drug overdose, an acute emergency for which she required immediate medical attention...
