This is a consolidated appeal1 from the circuit court upholding the decisions of referees for Unemployment Compensation Appeals (hereinafter "referees") of the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (hereinafter "Department") in denying unemployment insurance benefits under chapter 383, Hawaii Employment Security Law, to appellants, David P. Ainoa, Ronald G. Nolan and Garret J. Dressler.
