The defendants, Ricky Stevenson and Alfred Avery, were tried in the circuit court of Cook County on the charges of attempt arson and attempt aggravated arson. Following a bench trial, both defendants were convicted. Stevenson was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment, and Avery was sentenced to four years' imprisonment...
