ROBERTS, Judge.

The state appeals from the trial court's granting of defendant's motion to suppress evidence seized during a warrantless search of defendant's automobile.

The relevant facts are as follows: On the night of January 21, 1979, two deputy sheriffs were called upon to investigate a series of thefts and attempted thefts from automobiles in a Lebanon parking lot. Among the objects of the thefts and attempted thefts were tools, tape decks, tape recordings...
