We granted rehearing en banc from a decision of a panel of this court1 reversing a district court's order suppressing evidence against the appellee, George Pappas. Pappas was charged with acquiring and possessing a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(a)(6) and 922(h)(1).
