OPINION

GILMORE, District Judge.

Dewey R. Harmon, petitioner, was convicted by a jury in the Branch County, Michigan, Circuit Court on February 26, 1977, of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, in violation of M.C.L. § 750.520b(1)(d).

On March 21, 1977, he was sentenced to from 10 to 20 years imprisonment. His conviction was affirmed by the Michigan Court of Appeals on May 12, 1978, and on April 6, 1979, the Supreme Court of Michigan...
