In these consolidated cases we must decide whether Florida statutes that restrict the size of contributions to a single political committee in a referendum election violate the first amendment rights of persons who want to contribute more than the maximum amount allowed by the statutes. Because campaign contributions implicate important first amendment rights and because Florida has shown no sufficiently important interest to justify restricting...
