OPINION

MOWBRAY, Chief Justice:

In this appeal, we are called upon to decide whether an accused's statements made pursuant to a plea agreement with the prosecutor and in the course of entering a plea of guilty, subsequently withdrawn, are admissible to impeach the testimony of the accused at a later trial on the same charges. We conclude that they are not.
