These consolidated cases involve appeals by various subcontractors from orders of the circuit court of Douglas County denying their counterclaims for mechanic's liens.

The action began on December 1, 1975, when plaintiff, C.S. Lewis, Inc. (Lewis), filed a complaint to foreclose a mechanic's lien against property owned by defendant, Cabot Corporation...
