By a petition for a writ of error, filed in May, 1979, Leslie A. Reddick, whom for convenience we shall call the defendant, challenges his June, 1970, conviction of murder in the first degree. We affirmed that conviction on direct appeal in Commonwealth v. Reddick, 372 Mass. 460 (1977). He now advances arguments that were not raised in that appeal, although each of them might have been.
