On November 29, 1978, the defendant, Tim Wadelton, pleaded guilty to burglary and misdemeanor theft. Pursuant to the plea negotiations, he was then sentenced to three years' probation for the burglary conviction and to a concurrent term of imprisonment of 314 days for the theft conviction.
