Defendant Samuel Lavoy (defendant) and codefendant Jerry Morales (Morales) were each charged with one count of armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 18-2) and one count of armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 33A-2). The jury returned verdicts convicting defendant on both counts and acquitting Morales on both counts. Defendant was sentenced...
