In the evening of March 21, 1978, defendant Norman Dean Tarman became involved in a fight with a Pierce County sheriff's deputy who was attempting to arrest him for driving while intoxicated and for refusing to give information to or cooperate with a police officer. Defendant was acquitted in Eatonville District Court of the charge of driving while intoxicated, but was convicted of the other charge. As a result of the fight, defendant also was convicted...
