Tommie Lee Ross was charged with Armed Robbery, Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury; Rape While Armed with a Deadly Weapon, and with being an Habitual Criminal. He pleaded not guilty and on August 28, 1979, a jury found him guilty of robbery and rape. On August 29, he was found to be an habitual criminal.
