The International Longshoremen's Association [ILA] struck appellees' facilities over a work assignment to competing unions. Claiming a breach of contract, appellees sought and obtained a preliminary injunction against the ILA strike pending arbitration of the dispute. See Boys Markets, Inc. v. Retail Clerks Local 770, 398 U.S. 235, 90 S.Ct. 1583, 26 L.Ed.2d 199 (1970). Arbitration thereupon was had...
