MARSHALL, Justice.

The appellant was convicted of the murder of Houston County Deputy Sheriff Jesse Tanner. He received a sentence of life imprisonment. This is his appeal.

The murder was committed while the deputy sheriff was attempting to serve the appellant with a warrant for his arrest. In an exchange of gunfire, the deputy was killed and the appellant was wounded. After the shooting, the appellant got his girlfriend, Peggy Sue Mills, to drive him to Milledgeville...
