The defendant, Patrick Hunt, was charged by indictment with one count of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 19-1(a)) and three counts of theft (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, pars. 16-1(a)(1), (d)(1)) on July 19, 1979. Following a bench trial, the defendant was found guilty on all counts.
