While executing a valid writ of restitution issued by the Landlord & Tenant Branch of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, a Deputy United States Marshal turned over to the city police a sawed-off shotgun found in the apartment rented and occupied by the defendant Kenneth Sanford. A federal grand jury later indicted and charged the defendant with the possession of an unregistered firearm...
