This is a suit for benefits under a fire insurance policy. Plaintiffs' air conditioning system was damaged by lightning. The trial judge awarded policy benefits of $3,116.50, plus 12% penalties and attorney's fees of $1,000.00. The defendant insurer appeals only as to the award of penalties and attorney's fees. Plaintiffs answered the appeal, seeking an increase in the benefit award to $5,347.56, an increase in the penalties from 12% to 25%, and...
