Mr. PRESIDING JUSTICE SEIDENFELD delivered the opinion of the court:

Frank J. Haberman sued Commonwealth Edison Company (Edison) to recover for injuries received when he fell from an electrical service pole. In his original complaint the plaintiff charged defendant with negligence. At the close of plaintiff's case in chief in a jury trial he filed an amended motion to add a count for general negligence, based on res ipsa loquitur.
