Defendant, John J. Hester, appeals from his conviction of driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor in violation of section 11-501 of the Illinois Vehicle Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1977, ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-501). After the jury returned a guilty verdict on June 22, 1979, defendant was fined $500, given one year probation and 30 days periodic imprisonment to be served on...
