Defendant, Alvin "Coffee" Washington, failed to appear at trial, and on motion of the district attorney, judgments were entered and signed on July 27, 1976 in favor of the state declaring a forfeiture of his appearance bond. One year, two-and-one-half months later, and through the efforts of the bondsman, the defendant was again arrested, and returned to court where he was subsequently tried and convicted.
