The petition for mandamus was filed December 30, 1976. It alleges that Cross was an appointed deputy sheriff and that following a thirty-day leave of absence taken pursuant to Burnett County Civil Service Ordinance, Sheriff Soderbeck refused to reinstate him in his former position. The petition further alleges that Cross filed a grievance with the Burnett County Civil Service Commission, a hearing was held on the grievance and the commission ordered...
