On December 31, 1979, the Board of Commissioners of Clinton County adopted a county budget for 1980 having total expenditures of $2,467,979.25. Following the first Monday of January, 1980, the new board elected to reopen the former board's budget for the purpose of preparing an amended 1980 county budget. The result of this effort took fruit on January 31, 1980, with a proposed amended budget of $2,899,692.95.
