The defendant, Lorri Ann Clark, was convicted of common prostitution in violation of Minneapolis Code of Ordinances § 385.150 (1976) and sentenced to 90 days in the Hennepin County Detention Center. Defendant's motion for a new trial was denied, whereupon she appealed to the Hennepin County District Court.
