This case arises under the Oregon Occupational Disease Law, ORS 656.802-824. Petitioner Inkley worked from 1956 to 1977 as a welder-mechanic for respondent Forest Fiber Products Co. In September 1976 petitioner filed a claim with the employer seeking compensation for a job-related hearing loss. At that time Forest Fiber Products was a direct responsibility employer, directly liable for the payment of compensation benefits to injured workers...
