This is an action for compensation for property taken from plaintiff by defendant, the State Department of Transportation and Development, for the construction of Interstate Highway 10 in Jefferson Parish. From a judgment in favor of plaintiff for $5,394 land value plus $2,000 in attorney fees and $1,000 of appraiser's fees the Department has appealed.
