This is an action for enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Charlestown brought by the town solicitor in accordance with G.L. 1956 (1970 Reenactment) § 45-24-7. The complaint alleged that the defendant, a Charlestown landowner, had altered a dwelling house in an R-40 zone from a single family use to a multi-family use in violation of the zoning ordinance of the town.
