Plaintiff Grierson, a Saginaw fireman, was injured while inspecting a Saginaw school, prompting payment of workers' compensation benefits to him by the City of Saginaw. He subsequently brought an action against defendant Saginaw Board of Education and the City of Saginaw intervened to recoup compensation benefits paid to Grierson.
