On April 21, 1972, plaintiffs-respondents Norman F. and Lillian E. Linscott purchased three policies of insurance for their 26-year old daughter Laurelie. Each of these policies included among its benefits $25 per day for hospital room expenses. Laurelie died almost a year later, on April 9, 1973.
