Nathan Blustein, 73 years of age, was brutally beaten and robbed while taking an early evening walk near his residence on Tower Drive in Beverly Hills. Appellant, convicted of robbery and assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and committed to the Youth Authority, raises a number of issues on appeal, which we shall discuss in turn.
