On February 1, 1980 the Pennsylvania Supreme Court reversed defendant's conviction on first degree murder and conspiracy charges and granted him a new trial: Com. v. Watts, 488 Pa. 214, 412 A.2d 474 (1980). In its opinion in support of reversal, the Supreme Court held that defendant's trial attorney was ineffective in not objecting to the prosecutor's misconduct...
