Defendant-appellant William B. Carter was charged in a two-count indictment with the offenses of sodomy1 and rape2 and, after a bench trial, was convicted of sodomy and assault and battery with intent to gratify sexual desires.3 In this appeal, Carter raises the following issues within the context of a general sufficiency of the evidence argument:
