On December 1, 1978 defendant Leroy Williams was charged by bill of information with the crime of distribution of marijuana, in violation of La.R.S. 40:966(A). On March 12, 1979, defendant appeared in court with employed counsel and entered a plea of guilty as charged. He was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment at hard labor and a fine of $7500.
