KELLEHER, Justice.

This two-count indictment charges the defendant, John Carillo (Carillo), with the crimes of murder and conspiracy to murder. Both counts arise from the June 22, 1973, stabbing death of Donald Price (Price), which occurred while Price, a state corrections officer, was on duty at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI). Carillo was found guilty on both counts after trial by a Superior Court jury and, on November 30, 1973, was sentenced...
