After trial by jury in the circuit court of Vermilion County, defendant Charles Seaton was convicted on March 17, 1978, of murder and two counts of aggravated assault arising from a series of incidents occurring in Danville on the night of November 19, 1977. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 1 year for each of the aggravated assaults and 15 to 35 years for the murder. On appeal...
