The defendant was charged in an information with the sale of a narcotic substance, cocaine, in violation of § 19-480 (a) of the General Statutes. The bill of particulars subsequently filed by the state specified that the sale took place in Hartford on the afternoon of January 30, 1976, and that the defendant gave the cocaine to a confidential informer.
