In this diversity action, plaintiff seeks recovery of $80,000 and expenses of $1,000 based on an alleged contract to perform legal services for defendant. In the alternative, a similar amount together with punitive damages is prayed, on the theory that defendant fraudulently induced plaintiff to render his services with no intention of paying the fee.
