This appeal arises from an action for slander and breach of contract against defendants Ramsey County, Sheriff Kermit Hedman, and Chief Deputy George Weber in Ramsey County District Court. The jury returned a special verdict finding defendant Weber liable for slander and defendants Weber and Ramsey County liable for breach of contract.
