Appellants, Alfonso Rivera Escamilla and Salvador Guerrero Yglesias were charged with: 1) conspiring to rob a Purolator armored van in Fort Bliss, Texas in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 and 2111; 2) taking three bags of currency belonging to the United States Government in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 2 and 2111; and 3) stealing $13,235 belonging to the United States in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 641.
