Defendant stands convicted of the crime of attempted murder of a peace officer, committed during the course of an aborted robbery at a Transit Authority token booth on May 13, 1974. The officer, a Transit Authority policeman working in plainclothes, entered upon the scene while the robbery was still in progress, and allegedly announced his status in attempting to effect an arrest.
