July 15, 1968, Consumers Power Company filed with the Michigan Public Service Commission a petition to increase the company's electric rates. After public hearing the commission concluded that Consumers Power was experiencing a revenue deficiency and was entitled to a rate increase of $16,514,000. The commission directed Consumers Power to file rates and schedules designed to achieve that increase.
