Defendant was arrested on July 8, 1974, and charged with two counts of armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973, ch. 38, par. 18-2) which arose out of an incident occurring on April 24, 1974. One week earlier, on July 1, 1974, defendant had been arrested for disorderly conduct in an unrelated incident.
